“I took these images back when I was in Japan. The zen garden in the first image was perfectly reflecting how I was picturing Japan in my head before getting there. I immediately took my camera to take the shot.. :)”

“One of my main `goals` when it comes to my film photography (especially my nighttime photography) is to capture moments and places and try to do so in a cinematic and nostalgic fashion. For me it`s a perfect shot if the photo feels like a shot from a movie, like if you put a dvd on late at night and you pause the film for a second in a great scene. Or if I look at one of my photos and suddenly I can picture this photo becoming `alive` and turning into a movie scene. That`s something that gets me outside at night with my camera no matter how tired I might be or how cold it might be.”

“This was originally shot quite a few years ago, while on a trip to Henningsvær in the North of Norway. It was just a snapshot out the window of the car, and I had nothing particular in mind with it, just to keep as a memory of this extraordinary beautiful and scenic landscape. I had forgotten about it since, but then I looked through the catalog of old photos recently, and found a bunch of these landscape frames. This particular one is actually a daytime shot. I added this red/green color grade in Lightroom, and the end result had an eerie but calming look to it. It sort of reminded me a bit of the aurora borealis - northern lights. Hence the title; northern nights.”

“My grandma is an icon. She has dementia and the one thing she never lets go of is getting ready in the morning. She puts on her jewelry and her best clothes just to go to the supermarket or run some errands. My mother takes care of her. My whole heart belongs to them.💛”

“Shooting film is quite special to me as I use my dad`s film camera that he got when he was 21. I tend to find myself drawn to interesting buildings and the natural world mainly.”

“My photography is largely inspired by my love for nature. I stumbled across these sheep on a spontaneous hike up a hill as I was heading into Jasper, AB for a camping trip. I find the best shots seem to come when I least expect it, a lesson I am still learning as I continue to shoot film.”

“I first started taking photos on my phone but I realised it didn`t capture the scene how I saw it, so when I decided to get into film photography I was enamoured by the rich qualities of 35mm. With my film I find that accidental shots should be embraced, as imperfections like shaky exposure can enhance the atmosphere or mood of the photo.”
