These pigeons had been circling Pioneer Square in Downtown Portland so I waited for the right moment to release the shutter on my Canon Elan and voilà … this ominous photo.”

“I`ve been documenting abandoned places around the world for the last 3 years now. This place used to be a reform school for boys. It was opened in 1900 and closed in 2011. Unfortunately it has a very dark history. Over a 100 reports of abuse and deaths, many of the bodies buried in its grounds and unidentified. The closure of this place specifically marks the end of a 111 year dark history for my home state, Florida. Now abandoned and reclaimed by nature. Its closure signifies justice for the unknown but not forgotten..”
